Welcome to my Blog

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog!

I know I have an “About Me” page, but I wanted to take the opportunity to write my first blog and tell you about the various subjects I may or may not discuss.

As you probably guessed by the name of my blog, you will find scripture, parental advice, recipes, family/marital stories and advice, etc…

Basically, the same subjects that you would find on a lot of other “mommy blogs”.

However, I feel like mine may be a bit different than a lot of the blogs out there.

I work full-time…I have three kids…and I am happily married.

So, when I would get online looking for advice or ideas or just something to relate to, I had a hard time finding it.

Why?

Well, first, let me say I am NOT dissing any SAHM (stay at home mom)!

I know from experience that being at home all day cleaning, cooking, and caring for the children is not easy either.

Whether you stay at home, or you work, it all has it’s own level of hard.

That being said, to answer why I had a hard time finding a “relatable” blog…

Because for the most part, the blogs were either written by SAHM or superwomen.

Unfortunately, I am neither.

So, I decided to use my love for writing (albeit amateur) and create a blog full of…

  • Easy, fast, and cheap recipes (the less dishes, the better)
  • How to stay motivated throughout the day (nothing special)
  • Cleaning tips and tricks (no DIY cleaners..those are good, but who has the time?)
  • Bible scripture (and even Christian songs) for you to refer to for REAL help. I couldn’t make it without God or His word.

You probably get it by now.

I will also include random tidbits like:

“What to look for when choosing dental insurance”

-or-

“What is Hashimotos and how to take care of yourself if diagnosed with it”.

I do not consider myself an expert in any field that I will discuss.

That’s not to say that I know nothing about any of it either.

I cook and clean everyday like most women (or men), and I have three children (all girls!).

I also work in insurance and billing in a large dental office, so I know a thing or two about dental insurance.

Lastly, I deal personally with Hashimotos and have been since I was 13 years old.

(If you don’t know, Hashimotos is an auto-immune disorder that attacks your thyroid, possibly making you Hypothyroid).

In short, it sucks.

What I am saying is anything I discuss on my blog will be things I deal with on a regular basis myself so I can put a “relatable” spin on things.

It will be REAL…

I don’t know about you, but that’s all I really want in every aspect of my life.

So, if you’re looking to relate…

If you’re looking for real…

If you’re looking for ideas that will actually help you…

Then The Proverbs Mama is the place for you.

I will give you something to relate to…

I will show you scripture that ALWAYS helps me when I feel irritable, overwhelmed, sad, angry, and even happy!

And I will even try to give you some laughs while I’m at it.

I appreciate you even giving my blog a glance, and I truly look forward to growing this blog into a place where we imperfect women (or men) can come together and know we are NOT alone.

By Jesica: The Proverbs Mama

Busy, but BLESSED. Yep, that's me! My name is Jesica (yes, one 's') and I am a wife of a gorgeous, loving husband, a mom of three fantastic, beautiful girls (as well as a HUGE German Shepherd and an adorable chocolate lab). Oh, and I work full-time. So, as you can imagine, I stay pretty busy with a 40-hour work week, cooking, cleaning, gymnastics, ballet, doctor visits, vet visits, grocery shopping...and let's not forget trying to make sure my husband and I make memories other than us running around trying to get work and chores done...whew...So I am sure you're wondering why I started a blog on top of all of that...Well, I am starting a blog to help other moms, not only by giving tips for parenting, cooking, or cleaning, but to let you know that NONE of us are perfect and we ALL do things that we are sure NO OTHER mom does. Well, I am here to tell you that we ALL do that thing that you're sure NO OTHER mom does. So, grab a cup of coffee (or whatever your preference) and start feeling GOOD about your abilities as a mom, dad, wife, or husband. For we are fearfully and wonderfully made by our God, and His works are MARVELOUS.
